Veteran Plumber
Today was the last Saturday of the month so it was 'AFVBC' day (Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club.
I've been a member for a while but never managed to make it to the breakfast, held at the Toby Carvery, Brockworth, so only about 10 minutes from home.
They do a lot for veterans, come Remembrance time they do free meals for veterans, or heavily discounted I can't remember.
I normally have two Wheat Bisks, they are the same as Weetabix but a lot cheaper. I decided to be modest with my breakfast but still had a sausage, 2 rashers of bacon, fried egg, black pudding and mushrooms, and two cups of coffee which is endless if you want it.
On leaving I spotted this van in the car park. I don't know who he is but I'll find out easily enough. We don't often have a plumber but when we do it would be good to use a veteran who is trying to make a go of it after serving.
I do know he was Royal Artillery, or 'Drop Short' as we nickname them :-)) because of the company name 'Ubique'. It's on the R.A. crest and cap badge, see Extra. The bit along the bottom can also be explained.
ROYAL ARTILLERY- Ubique = Everywhere
Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt = Whither right and glory lead
