Optimism

It has been a busy wee day. Not as busy as when life takes me to Glasgow to watch football, but almost.

My Parkrun this morning was at Lochore Meadows. The weather was warm (for February) but dry and windy. The course was muddy. I was lethargic - maybe too much pasta last night.

Then after my shower and (second) breakfast I set off on the train to Dunfermline to meet up with Junior. He had agreed to join me at Dunfermline Athletic v Queen's Park. He regretted it (see below). I regretted inviting him.

We managed a quick pint (Neck Oil) in the East Port Bar before the match and then enjoyed a pie when we got there. Those were the highlights of the afternoon.

Our Lot were terrible. Dunfermline were terrible. Their pitch was like a potato field. It was a 0-0 draw, with nothing even close to resembling excitement.

On my walk up the hill from Dunfermline City railway station to the pub I passed the remains of a large tree which had fallen over the road during the last storm. I am not a graffiti person but this little offering made me smile.

I do not share the optimism.
