He Almost Got Away

I was standing at the boat launch looking out at the water and when I look to my right, about 20 feet away was a great blue heron looking back at me. By the time I got my phone out to take his picture, he had already gotten pretty far away. It was a little cool today in the 50s, but not a cloud in the sky and lovely down by the river.
