Would madam care for a blip with that?
What a day! Our last one, and an absolute roaster. Maybe down to the lack of wind; I still pegged my towel to my lounger however. Best to be prepared. Old habits, n’that.
After a dip or two I could stand it no longer and had to repair indoors awhile, which remarkably enough, coincided with the kick off of the second half at Goodison. I fear I jinxed "Moyesies" winning streak - from 2-0 up, Man U ground out a two all draw. Jings. Oh and the lager was €3 a pint!
Back to lounge and roast, before a decision had to be made. Last day - are we wanting to squeeze out the last drops of sunshine or watch Scotland away at Twickenham? Happily we chose the latter. My God, Scotland played well - at stake was the chance of five consecutive Calcutta Cups for the first time ever. The English contingent, the majority, were silenced, grumbling. Ha. Sadly it’s all about points however and the ugly team bulldozered into the lead. But when we scored our third try at the death, a conversion was all that was needed for us to nick the win. Bah.
Anyway, we all agreed it was a thoroughly entertaining game. Jolly sporting of us.
Time to pack, eat, and meet twinkler and his Mrs. And another couple who were actually quite interesting - and young. Well…. ish.
