“You can find poetry in your everyday life, your memory, in what people say on the bus, in the news, or just what's in your heart.”
Carol Ann Duffy
Interesting day with mixed results; started by doing some DIY at K1’s family house to get it ready for sale. Fairly straightforward stuff and headed off to get the bus home (gave my car the day off) to collect my camera for another bus journey to Blaenavon, to collect a ‘book’ about Henry Morton Stanley from L, a ‘Welsh Australian’. Bus journey took best part of an hour so I headed straight for the Heritage Centre for lunch – a breakfast roll while perched on a stool (it was busy!). Fancied something from the Artisan cheesemaker advertised at the entrance to town, unfortunately all closed up and padlocked at 2.30pm! Collected my ‘book’ and had a good chat to L about family history research, then headed off to catch the bus. Return journey quicker and quieter, good opportunity to daydream and watch the world passing by which I don’t often get when I’m driving. Evening spent doing some more on the Cwmcarn Dam Disaster article, also found where the memorial is at Pontywaun, so planning to go back there soon.
