Hythe fishing beach

The promised day of sunshine gave up the pretence at around 11.00am giving into an advancing curtain of cloud which thankfully did not produce and rain until we got home.

We went down to Hythe on the coast, looking for a lunch and for a walk along the Royal Military Canal and the seafront. Plenty of places to open in Hythe all of which were very busy.

In the end we set off on a figure of 8 northwards ending up at Waitrose on the crossover. We were surprised to find it has a cafe and very reasonably priced it was too. Funny though as the menu was on a digital display which didn’t give you time to assimilate the options.

We fancied the quiche only to be told there was no quiche of any variety. Hmm, had they not looked in the store?

The second loop took us to the fishing beach which provided today’s blip. Then it was back to the car and home where I watched the most entertaining game of rugby between Italy and France.

The French won easily 24-73 with 11 tries to Italy’s 3. Such a different game to England v Scotland yesterday. No allegiances meant I was able to enjoy the spectacle without any pressure. 14 tries helped and so many scoring records broken.
