White Wells

We're falling asleep on the settee!  It was the CompassSport Cup Heat on Ilkley Moor today and, as it's one of our Club's areas, we were on a three line whip to take part and hopefully score but we were also expected to help.  Hence, Tony and I were walking up to White Wells into the weather to help set up the start for the competition, which was a bit tricky in the rising wind and rain.  Suddenly, it was my start time and I had to change and get going and, consequently, I ran around like a headless chicken on the way to my first control and took far too long.  Thankfully, my route choice after that was better and once at the finish I walked back up to White Wells to take over from Tony checking whistles and cagoules whilst he went out on his much more successful run.

When start times had all gone through, we had to take all the equipment and tent down to the pickup point then I walked down to the car with our bags just as Tony arrived from download.  

Back home that hot bath was very welcome!
