Andermatt….

We’ve been 2,033m above sea level today and seen some amazing scenery. Our guide took us on a short tour of Andermatt with lovely views of the Rhine Gorge and some traditional Austrian buildings.

We travelled on the Glacier Express train for over two hours to reach the top, taking us over spectacular bridges, through mountain tunnels and Alpine scenery. Austria though, is experiencing its mildest winter for 30 years and some ski resorts are really suffering the effects of global warming! The skiers we saw today though, were heltering down the slopes at great speed in the deep snow this high up. No thank you!
