Trees in Fairmilehead Park
The sun decided to bless us with a relatively mild 10°C. I started the day with a wee stroll around the park after breakfast. The park was buzzing with people, and the football camp was a massive hit this week. Couldn't capture my weekly photo just yet, so after paying for the papers, I headed back home.
Post-coffee, I took on a DIY mission to fix the fence. With a storm expected on Sunday, I didn't want to discover it in my neighbour's garden!
My first attempt with steel core washing line failed, as the fence was still very wobbly. A wooden post box construction was my solution, attaching it to the windward wall and stabilizing with struts on the opposite side. As the grocery delivery was fashionably late, I cut the wood for the posts and struts. After groceries arrived, I took a second trip to the park for my weekly tree photo. The new post got attached to the struts, and the whole setup was stable without fixing the post to the wall.
Post-lunch, my partner and I took a sunny jaunt to Morningside for weekend groceries. The supermarket was eerily quiet. With the twins having their own weekend plans, our meal for three required some culinary creativity. We basked in the pleasant sunshine on our way home, and seized another opportunity for a wee walk around the park.
After another coffee break, I was back to securing the fence to the wall. Mission accomplished, it stood strong and sturdy.
We rounded off a mellow evening with The Weakest Link, 1% Club, and caught up on Silent Witness. Cheers to a productive and sunshine-filled day with a well earned beer! Also very tired, didn't take long to go to sleep when we did go to bed.
