Streaming Through Trees

I crossed the inlet on the snow and ice, to walk along the other side up through the prairie. With the late sun at my back, its warm light picked out red dogwoods in the shade, behind a brilliantly lit stand of phragmites. The mixture of colours and textures was very inviting.

Only later, when looking at this frame, did I see the light streaming through the trees beyond, giving another dimension to the image.

Overhead I saw the red-tailed hawk circling on thermals, too far away for a clear shot.
