Bring on a Storm!

Last winter, an ice storm left us without power for a few days.  Although we had a solar array on the roof, we didn't have battery storage.  Technological and manufacturing improvements have reduced the cost of these backup systems. The price drop,  energy rebates, and tax incentives have enabled us to purchase a system.  
 
I had no idea how complex and involved this installation would be. The above photo doesn't show the batteries; there are two, each about 36"/91cm. FYI: we didn't buy the Tesla brand batteries.
