The Big Adventure

A lovely start to the day with my uncle and his wife and then we were off, on the twistyest, turnyest, windyest roads to Newcastle, which did nothing for the middle one and his car sickness ( and worried us no end about how he'd cope with the alpine roads and worried me that I might have to give us my front seat for the whole trip ).

We had just about time for a very fast supermarket dash to pick up essentials and some food for our tea on the boat and an alfresco nappy change for the littlest in the car park or tesco in the blazing sun before getting to the ferry terminal in time for check in.

With the car emptied of all the gubins needed for a night on the boat we headed up to find out cabin and the Nordic cousins who were also starting their holiday on the boat en route to Holland.
