Day 216 - and Camp Bestival Sunday (and last day sniff sniff)

Our last day after what has been a wonderfully brilliant weekend. We had a slow start, Roo played with his camp site pals, while I contemplated packing up Camp Van.

We had a rather relaxed mooch around, watched the boarders on the free sports park and made a bow (now a treasured possession) at the Axe and Paddle Bushcraft. No arrows allowed thankfully, not sure the festival could cope with a load of kids shooting sharp pointy things, especially as they all go completely wild for the bubbles.

Headed down to upper and lower kids gardens which were busier than the past few days and we once again bumped into the fantasy warrior characters much to the joy of the boy.

Taking me more by complete surprise was Roo's fascination with the goings on in the Dance Space. Even more surprising that he wanted us to join in, so we kicked off our cons and joined in the kids dance off's. We lasted 10 min before he declared 'I need a wee' and off we raced to use When Nature Calls posh loos. The best £20 I spent all weekend especially given the boy after using the normal festie loo's stated with all seriousness that he wasn't going to poo until he got home (eek).

Continuing the theme of a civilised festival doings, we sat down at a table, with proper cutlery and china for our Sunday dinner at the Surplus Supper Club. A worthy concept from FareShare South West who believe that good food should fill bellies, not bins and help others in the community that can't afford a healthy diet. Staffed by volunteers who served up a massive plate full of a roast dinner followed by sticky toffee and chocolate puds with custard - treats especially knowing the money raised would help others.

We decided to leave early as had a good 4 hour drive back (finally made it home at 1am) and sadly missed the firework finale, still it'll be something else to look forward to next year.
