The Great Kimberley Wilderness
Today I had the great experience of being transported to the amazing Kimberley region of Northern Western Australia by virtue of “The Great Kimberley Wilderness”. It’s a 35 minute virtual reality documentary that transports you to one of our most spectacular and pristine landscapes in the world. As you will see from my image you travel there wearing the 3D projection goggles and they instruct you to take advantage of your swivelling seat so that you can take in the entire 360 degree cinema experience. I have to be honest when the documentary first started it was a weird feeling. I felt like I was going to fall over the edge of this most incredible gorge and I found myself hanging on for my life and on the edge of the seat. Once I pulled myself together and gave myself a good talking to, I managed to immerse myself totally into the whole performance. It was amazing and it moved me to tears it was so emotive in parts. We were privileged to witness scenes that we would never see any other way as they are quite sacred and this was the way the the Indigenous owners of the land could share with us the great natural beauty of the area. I can highly recommend it to anyone that has the opportunity to visit the Art Gallery. It closes on Monday the 28th of April.
Oh, if you look at the image you will notice people all looking in different directions. The 360 degree vision was spectacular and you really felt like you were right there on the spot.
