Mono Monday: Something Swedish

The coat hanger hook was designed in the 1920s by Johan Pettersson.

Johan drilled a bent nail into a stick and the coat hanger hook was created. Today, the coat hanger hook is manufactured by Petterssons Järnförädling in Hillerstorp. The company has just under 100 employees and uses 12,000 tons of wire per year for hooks that are exported to around 70 countries all over the world. The company is by far the largest in the world and accounts for a third of the entire world production of coat hanger hooks.
