Poinsettia

I associate these plants with Christmas but this plant has been sitting on my lounge window sill since the beginning of December. I haven't touched it apart from the occasional drink of water.

The plant looks its best when the sun shines in the side window making the top petals look translucent .... and today was one of those sunny days .... such a change from yesterday.
