Stockholm Marathon Medal

The Mono Monday theme is  " Something you think is associated with Sweden "I was going to blip my two Dala horses  but then I remembered that my late husband had completed the Stockholm Marathon - so I " dug out " his medal.  Its really heavy and its not on a ribbon so its more of a paperweight than a medal.  The building on the front is the Parliament Building. Thanks to heanku for hosting.  Im looking forward to checking out the other entries to see what other blippers have come up with.

I needed to go to a branch of my bank today to do a bank transfer to pay " The Cat Ladies " for looking after Tino and Lily when I'm away for a couple of weekends in March.  Nearest bank is Newcastle so that's where I headed this afternoon.  First stop was Superdrug to get rid of a large carrier bag of blister packs.  The banking business didn't take long.   Its all automated and I did get the help of a member of staff as previously Ive had problems.

I didn't hang around in town but got a bus to Gateshead and went to Specsavers.  It was closed for refurbishment when I went last Monday but today it was open... and not busy.  I spoke to a lovely lady and explained  the problem with my glasses ... the new ones seem no better than my old ones.  As Specsavers have a " 100 day no quibble guarantee" ... she didn't quibble and refunded the £70 I had paid.

Before going home I did some shopping in the big Tesco.  Brenda who sits beside me at my slimming group was on the bus going home so we had a nice catch up.

Soon after I got home I had a phone call from C.H.E.C.( Community Health and Eyecare )  The lady was phoning to offer me an appointment tomorrow for my initial consultation before having cataract surgery.  So I'm booked in at 3.40pm.  Its a new clinic in the Metrocentre so very handy.

After the call I did a load of washing and caught up with some TV viewing.
