This makes me smile

We are having a very rainy day, which is good because it's been a long time since we had any. I was out for Pilates/strength training, but not able to walk outdoors afterwards. So I thought, why not take a photo of something inside... 

Everytime I walk past this journal quilt made by my friend Friedaquilter, who is here on Blipfoto, I smile. Such a beautiful piece, expertly sewn and collaged. I got this for myself as a present when I visited Frieda in Scotland 10 years ago. It is one of her 52 journal quilts that were on display at the Tweeddale Museum and Gallery in Peebles. I attended the exhibit the day she gave a lecture to a local quilt guild. So exciting to be there that day. I have so many fond memories of that trip and our week together.
