Lapwings returning!

I was hoping I'd inadvertently caught these arriving on the moors today. It was only after I'd put my camera away that I realised this was a large flock of lapwings heading up to the moors. They must have felt the warmth yesterday too! 

It was a leisurely start to the day before heading down to Birmingham...
