Musing of a Lady

Screwdrivers

My parents are currently living and working in Uganda. The Ugandan mail department is notorious for parcels being opened and emptied. Letters take weeks to arrive. So, my parents tend to buy things and send them to me. I'll hold onto these parcels until I get either my parents are back in the Netherlands or there's someone else flying out to visit them, then I'll send the parcels on. A parcel arrived for my dad and he asked me to open it to double-check the contents. He'd ordered some screwdrivers for his workshop in Uganda.

We had a quiet day at home. It was lovely after the busyness of last week. I had a food delivery arrive in the morning and then we had Angela come round with her two kids, Boaz and Isa, along with Sira, the daughter of her friend. Isa is about four weeks old. Little Man was fascinated that babies are so small! He kept touching her hands and feet, very gently, before he went back to playing with Boaz and Sira.

Sjanne came round and for a chat after Little Man went to bed, which I really appreciated. Sometimes it's easier to talk about the life I left in England when Little Man isn't around to hear. I want to protect him from what I went through.
