Pouncing
Coursing over the field the owls were out hunting. It was a fine glorious day and what could be nicer than being in the sunshine out and about in the Cotswolds.
I was up early doors as I couldn't sleep and sneaked around the house trying to get my kit together and not wake Hubs or the dogs. I always feel there is something really special about early mornings, armed with a flask of coffee and tea in a thermos. The hares are awake gamboling around and the deer roam more conspicuously thinking all is quiet. The skylarks were singing and when the sun rose one could be forgiven for thinking it was a spring morning until of course you felt the 4° air temperature outside.. March 20th is the first day of spring so not long now.
We have seen a barn owl here for quite a few days running but I need to set up my tent hide to get the possibility of a good shot. I did get one of the barn owls at the owl field though today - see Extra.
