A Crusty Still Life, Maidstone
Not much to write about today but did have a lovely lunch, a Croque Monsieur and a nice hot cappuccino, so a nice middle of the day at least. My image was taken in one of the town centre car parks. It's not anywhere near the sea but I did love the bucket design and the bright orange handle!
When we got back we watched a great documentary on Sky about Yacht Rock. It's actually a term coined way after the music it refers to was actually written and recorded. The actual songs were by the likes of the incomparable Michael McDonald (he has one of my all time favourite voices in pop music), Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, Toto and The Doobie Brothers to name but a few. As you can see it was a particular American phenomenon of the late Seventies and early Eighties but it really stands the test of time and there were some glorious tunes to listen to. As they probably said back then, it was ace!
