Bark (not a command)

This is the bark on one of Britain's rarer native trees - who knows what it is?
I went to the Keepfit this morning, did the shopping and when I got in Mr Rat was back from his trip to Ghana. Our lovely new pastor had gone to the airport to pick him up so he didn't have to wait for the bus.
We went for a short walk down by the ponds as the sun was shining.
After lunch he went for a snooze (overnight flights aren't very conducive to sleep) and I spent an hour and a bit in the garden, getting some seedlings planted out, though they're still being protected.
