No dig bed

Home, and straight back to work! Rob wanted to get all the cardboard out of the workshop so we made a start on the new bed. It’s a weed infested area by the hedge, and we have never really got to grips with it. It had the orchid cold frames while Rob was working, but now we are going to try and use it as part of the garden. 
There’s a double layer of cardboard topped with four inches of recycled green waste compost. We plan to plant potatoes through the cardboard into the soil below and then when it’s time to harvest them, the weeds will all have disappeared…..
It will be interesting!!
