Birthday Prep

The month of March brings with it quite a few birthdays starting with Arthur’s. As a new reader and also a teller of jokes I thought I would make a bespoke birthday card for him . The photo shows some of the bits I’ve gathered so far . He should be able to read most of the words himself.
We have 6 other family birthdays, I’ve stopped sending cards , instead I send a preloved book bought from a website that donates a book to a literacy project for each one purchased. It seems like a better deal to me .it’s surprising how long it takes to sort it all out .
Have I mentioned that I am now a governor of a local nursery? It’s the first meeting tomorrow and today I went on a visit to meet the staff and children. It serves quite a deprived area and lots of the children speak English as a second language so
there is a lot of work to be done .It feels nice to have a chance to put my experience of teaching and of being a school governor to good use .
I’m a bit behind with your blips , we have a couple of full on days so it might get to the weekend before I get a chance to catch up . Thank you , for the sprinkles of stars and the thoughtful comments.
