Cooking
There was a lot of follow-up after our morning meeting, and I was with the engineers for a considerable time. I really enjoy the discussions where we refine specific requirements and improve them. It's hard to do in the daily refinement session because nobody is really focused on how they would write the code if they had to. The moments when somebody is working on code are the best opportunities to pull apart what's been written.
It was nice to have our Product team meeting and hear about the progress of other initiatives. I've mentioned a number of times that my current work is coming to an end and we're running through the final bits of it. In support of that, I spent most of the afternoon updating the documentation that I maintain. I want to make sure that I know where to look when, inevitably, people ask me questions about this phase, but my mind is already on what comes next.
I finished work just before six and decided to immediately start preparing dinner. I am glad that I did because the recipe needed 90 minutes in the oven after the initial preparation and stove-top cooking. When I plan meals at the weekends, I often forget to look at how long something takes to cook, and this is about my limit for a weeknight. Some weeks, using up the vegetable box is easier than others. This time might be tough as today's butternut squash, mushroom, and chickpea casserole did use a good selection of vegetables but also made six portions, and that will feed us almost to the weekend when the next box will arrive. Looks like I need to prep something for the freezer.
