Cuddles

Time to pack up and go home today but even that was fun with five littleish ones running around. Bash, Boo, Bean, Bear and Katie spent a long time playing families in the SweetDustyBones tent while we had breakfast, and then we cracked on with packing everything up while the littles played some more - bouncing, climbing, running, crawling, eating - they just kept going! They spent a little while just chilling out in the cars while tents were folded away but the suggestion that they might like to help squash all the air out was too much to resist and they came squealing over to the tent and leapt onto it with delight :D

Amazing how much stuff you need just for two nights. We're definitely going to have to plan for a slightly longer camping meetup :)

Off to the hotel to see Trudi and Catherine again, playing on the climbing frame, throwing sticks into the stream, coffee (much needed!), chatting and laughing, and bittersweet goodbyes as it's always too long between meetings.

We headed for home and decided to call in at the Military Aviation Museum to see what was there. Turns out they'd been having a day celebrating world air speed records! We'd arrived too late for all the events but there were still planes to look around and climb into and a barbecue serving food and of course the museum was open.

Bean got to sit in the cockpit of a Sea Harrier. He was pretty made up with that :)

And then I got to climb in, with Bear snuggled in the wrap!! Maaaan that made my day. That was one of my childhood dreams, to fly a Harrier, it has always been a favourite of mine. Don't think I'll ever fly one but now I've actually sat in the cockpit of one which is close enough for me!

Bear could hardly contain himself, pointing and calling out "brrrmmm" and "woow" and "vrrrrr" and signing motorbike and plane and helicopter constantly with bright excited eyes! We succumbed and bought them a toy jet each (Bean wanted one with a star on it - typical! We'll teach him about the RAF properly one day lol) and they made quiet a few people chuckle as they played on the runway painted on the floor of the museum.

He was brrrm'd out by the time we climbed back into the car to go home. Even a big noisy shiney motorbike didn't elicit a brrrrrm. Unsurprisingly he fell asleep again, as did Bean!

A brilliant end to a fabulous weekend.
