B.A.C.K. to Basics

Mid-Season Mud

I am LOVING this mid-winter thaw. The sun feels warm, the birds are chirping and the snow is receding. In its place, mud. Not a fan, but it is par for the course here in Maine! We always seem to have a false spring, and although we recognize it for what it is, I embrace every ounce of warm up, of mud, of melt, of open windows and of fresh air!

Yep, the wood boiler is cranking and the windows throughout the house are open. The blue jays and robins are playing in the dirty puddles and neighbors are out walking their dogs.

If only for today, I believe spring is springing.
