Like to the damask rose

I went to the cemetery intending to continue my recent magnolia theme, but the magnolia tree there is not flowering yet. So I strolled around and found these very faded and weathered fabric flowers on a grave. They  remind me of Edward Elgar's song about our mortality: Like to the damask rose.
