Between fen and mountains

Mediaeval Bridge

We had a lovely walk today in the sunshine, further afield than we would normally go but it was worth the trip. We walked across several mediaeval bridges and crossed streams and visited a 12th century chapel. At one point we were not able to cross the river as there was too much water flowing so we had to backtrack and at another point we took a wrong turn involving an unnecessary climb. That meant we ended up doing over 16 kilometres and 650 metres of ascent. Nevertheless, it was one of the best walks we have done for a while.
