Goodbye..!

The very attentive and lovely team at our hotel waved us off this morning. Everyone was given a small hand towel, a generous gift, and the team waved theirs as they said goodbye.

We’ve driven through Zurich and Alsace, into France and tonight we’re in Luxembourg. It’s also been D’s birthday and we’ve had a meal in the hotel tonight to make the day different from just a day of travelling. I’d taken a birthday banner with us to put up in our room and cards that had arrived at home before we left, and the driver played Happy Birthday sung by Marilyn Monroe as we drove away from the hotel. How nice was that!

We’ve had glorious sunshine today and all week the temperature has been above average. The thick jumpers too warm, the boots too heavy, but hey ho, no complaints and lots of gratefuls. And there was snow when we needed it.
