An up and down day
It was sunny when I left home this morning. With little traffic I made it up to Edmonds in twenty minutes instead of the usual thirty. Gena and Terri were early as well and since we were the only patrons in the restaurant we chose a table next to a window. It was great to see them. What was not great was the food. It was dreadful, definitely not worth the sodium. Either they've changed chefs (it's quite a while since I was there last) or the regular chef was having an off day, but both Gena and I were very disappointed. We were having a lovely conversation when a bunch of folks came in and sat down at a table right next to us, where they talked loudly and made it very difficult for us to hear each other. Between Gena and Terri's soft voices and my poor hearing it was a real struggle. But we spent time catching up on what's been going on, as well as commiserating about the unbelievably dreadful things that are happening in this country. I was sorry to have to say goodbye to them. On the drive home I was able to find a place to put air in my tires, as the warning light had come on in my car. What a difference that makes in how it feels to drive.
Western Washington had a record snowfall yesterday and the Olympic mountain range I saw while driving north was completely covered and standing out sharply against the sky. But try as I might I couldn't find a place from which to photograph them. So here instead is another shot of Rainier, which is also heavy with snow.
Back to dialysis tomorrow. It's supposed to stay dry, so on Friday, the last day of the month, I'll finally be able to go to Safeway with my Fresh Bucks.
