Bawdon Lodge Farm

Just up the road on Charnwood Forest just after the encroachment of 'development housing,' you will find Bawdon Lodge Farm. One of its barns has been converted into a rather nice coffee shop and gift outlet. It was the first time Len had been here.

The barn also serves another useful purpose. The barn roofs here are plastered in solar panels. Once upon a time, they used to brew Charnwood Gin here, but the business went bust, or was it just that it wasn't making enough money. There's so much competition these days.

Anyway, dogs are more than welcome. You can also walk them outside on the green sward next door.

Served by the chef, we had a very nice tomatoey soup with rolls. Mine was packaged gluten free. They can't make gluten free sandwiches because they don't have the preparation space. Len ALSO had an original Wagon Wheel. Remember those? I used to have one whenever I visited Auntie Annie. I was jealous of Len as he munched his happily.

Choir rehearsal in the evening.
