Heron and coypu

After work I took the fluffy one to the hippodrome again. Today we had a heron on the edge of the lake, and though the light was starting to fade I managed to get a couple of pictures. Again I didn't spot the coypu to the right of the picture, but they heard me and the dog and as we looped around the lake the dived into the water one after the other to swim to safety.

I've a longer lens for my dSLR which is more than double the focal length of my compact, but at full stretch it's a bit slow and being old school it doesn't have image stabilisation built-in, so I'd need more light to get a decent picture.

One day I'll buy a nice Canon R series and some new glass to go with it...
