Falkirk Wheel.

This afternoon MaggieD and I took Chloe to the Falkirk Wheel. Bright and sunny but still quite cool so the climb up to the top of the Wheel was a welcome warmer. The view north to the Ochils was lovely and clear today but the walkway was one long muddy puddle after the recent rain. However, I rather liked the cloud reflection in the canal. 
The Wheel connects the Forth & Clyde Canal to the Union Canal which runs into the heart of Edinburgh. There used to be a whole “ladder” of locks but over time they filled in and were built over. So when the canal refurbishment was started, the decision was made to build the Wheel rather than rebuild a whole string of locks.
