Finishing my new hat

Over here it’s a tradition to dress with ‘bullen’ (a farmer's smock, farmer's handkerchief and glass curtain and old clothes from your grandfather or grandmother or from the attic, completed with a hat) with carnival. Music and building clubs make souvenirs, and it's a sort of sport to decorate your hat and 'bullen' with those souvenirs. It's like carrying a little museum with you, and the older the souvenirs the better. People also get creative and make funny and wonderful stuff around the theme of the year.
Yesterday my hat tore, after about 12 years. So today I took all souvenirs from it and put some of it on a new hat, because tomorrow the hat is needed…
