Art
I've been to Shrewsbury today. Drove to the outskirts then took the park 'n' ride into town. First stop, a visit to The Bear Steps Art Gallery to view Rosie Read's The Mad Women art exhibition there. Rosie is a well respected artist in Shrewsbury, she has a great following and has a weekly art class. Wish I lived a little nearer. The Exhibition featured several other local artists and some of her pupils too . Loved every bit of the mixed media Exhibition, artists' sketchbooks on display giving me lots of ideas for mine. One of the artists there today who put the exhibition together works in a fabulous art shop down the road. I love her work. She does alot of pen and ink drawings of Corvids. I particularly like her baby Raven which she kindly drew one for me in my sketchbook*
A spot of lunch in the the Greenhouse Vegetarian and Vegan restaurant, of which I'm neither, but they have a great gluten free menu, everything is fresh and cooked to order and all the staff are lovely. I got a window seat which offers a great view of the high street and the gracious St. Alkmunds church.
A visit to the Art shop to purchase just a few little bits, then back on the P&R to the car. Popped into Salop Music Centre for a cleaning pull through for my saxophone, which they didnt have, a quick delve round Dunelm for cushion pads for the covers I bought in IKEA last week, which they did have and then to B&Q for a new loo seat, exciting.
Good drive home but boy, am I shattered, glad I made the effort though.
Extra: the baby Raven.
