Remembering Together

How was Covid for you? What are your memories? Did it change you?
Today saw the culmination of the two year project, Scotland’s Covid community Memorial Programme, designed to help communities come together again, and by sharing their experiences, hopefully heal.

Our dance group had a small part in the programme where we performed a short piece choreographed by our dance artist Saffy Setohy. (Unfortunately I have no images).
This is a link to the music Wee Rosebud by Clarissa Connelly.

The event, hosted by Stirling university, provided a mixture of discussions, poetry readings, singing and dancing.

Yes, Covid was devastating for many people especially the young but older people often reported different experiences even saying they  enjoyed having the time to themselves  without all the outside pressures.
One of my memories is the day that   M fell and broke his hip, and I wasn’t allowed to visit him in hospital. The ambulance arrived with  two young women who were unable to lift a 6ft man on a stretcher down a flight of stairs.

Fortunately a good Samaritan appeared in the form of our new next door neighbour and she sent her husband and son to help. Yes, people did come together to help each other.

What are your most significant memories?
