Wolfang's Peak
The Peak Range, the legacy of ancient volcanic activity, is a chain of picturesque cone-like mountains in Queensland, to the east of Clermont. The first one we came across as we drove from the Outback to the coast today was the Wolfang Peak (572m) - and yes, Wolfang is the correct spelling. I'm told a climber can make it to the top in about an hour. On the way, he or she will discover a colony of bats in a small cave and giant St Andrew's Spiders near the summit. But the 360-degree view of the National Park and grazing land makes all that worthwhile. They say.
