Leaving on a jet plane!

Sunday 23 February
Today, we were leaving for the UK for my brothers funeral on March 6, and to spend time with family beforehand. However, our flight wasn’t until late afternoon, so we were able to go to church as usual, where we were playing handbells as well as singing in the choir. It was a lovely morning, with the sun shining through the beautiful modern-style stained glass windows.
Back at home there was time for a bit of lunch - finishing up things from the fridge - as well as some last minute cleaning and changing sheets on the bed. We had a smooth drive down to the airport, and a reasonable time through check in and security, leaving us time for a coffee and cake before going to our gate. Our first flight was to Atlanta, , a few hours there, and then on to London Heathrow. Normally we fly to Manchester, which is very close to Roger’s Dad and sister Janet, but there Aren’t so many flights in the winter, and we didn’t like the prices, so Heathrow it was!
