Let there be lights

Another festival of lights in the town centre today, to celebrate  the imminent arrival of spring.
I felt like celebrating myself when I looked at the hellebores in a nearby flowerbed and saw a queen red-tailed bumblebee. This is the type that the Bumblebee Conservation Trust say declined more than any other type of bumblebee last year.
( Thanks to facebook, I’ve now been told that it’s an early bumblebee, not a red-tailed one. But that’s good as well. )
