Hospital bed view

The operation ended up being later in the day, so as the pharmacy had finished for the day they couldn’t discharge me with all the pain medication they thought I might need. And that worried my parents who would have been looking after me. So I stayed in overnight (the NHS is fantastic, but sometimes it is also crazy!) and as it happened only needed ibuprofen (which I had at home!).

This morning, with the nurse’s agreement I came home without any further medication as I have a good supply of paracetamol and ibuprofen in stock (and I dislike taking codeine as it makes me feel so woozy). It’s good to be home (and to have a proper coffee)
