F F Freezing Friday
After falling asleep on the settee last night, I was up early-but-later-than-intended this morning for a very quick shower before taking father in law for an appointment to check on his eye. That went pretty well and we were soon heading back afterwards, both remarking on how darn cold it was outside...brrr.
Back home for some light lunch & a couple of cuppas, the next task was to draft a letter for posting later. I combined this with a visit to my parents nearby, both of who are doing okay, returning home to print the letter off for posting.
By now it was late in the afternoon and the sky had been clear for several hours, warming up some so posting was combined with going out for an hour or so on Biscuit to clear my head, cutting through some of the queuing early commuters to find some countryside on the edge of the High Peak.
Turning back northwards I noticed a scattering of cars and vanlifers parked along Shiloh Road all gazing to the west. The sun was getting low on the horizon and I realised they were gathering to watch what was shaping up to be a beautiful sunset. Several aircraft were passing overhead at high altitude from across the Atlantic too. I stopped to take a photo which of course looks a helluva lot darker than it actually was but that is today's blip.
Sat behind a small bus at the traffic lights waiting to cross the Etherow up into Broadbottom, one of its back seat passengers was looking wistfully at Biscuit and as the lights turned green he gave an approving thumbs up :-)
Tea was going to be vegan cauliflower cheese, cooking for eldest for a change but upon discovering she was going out to Manchester with her friends, a hot hot hot Indian takeaway was enjoyed instead...and it was hot too...a King Prawn Biryani with Vindaloo sauce. Hot but very Nom, enjoyed watching the last few episodes of 'new' Bergerac *^_^*
