Repair Attempts

My daughter brought this old clock home from a household breakup, because our son wants to have it. After adjusting the escapement and cleaning plus oiling it is running again. But the clockwork is out of alignment, and I will have to find out why. To install a manual strike shut-up is another plan.

Update 2 March: the alignment has been corrected. The attempt to install a manual strike shut-up was not successful, and this plan has been given up. (Not winding up the striking spring will silence the clock as well.)

Update 29 March: the clock is running well on time, and is delivered today to our son’s apartment.
