Singing Thrush

I'd had a bad night so it was lovely to hear this song thrush singing from the top of the Christmas tree this morning. It was very misty and I don't usually get my camera out at 7:00 am. The pic isn't very clear owing to the mist but I'm glad I captured it. It won't be long before the birds are building their nests.

MrQ played sax and clarinet in bands all his life but in his latter years he started singing with the band too. People said his voice was similar to that of Al Bowlly. One of his favourite songs to sing was The Love Nest.

MrQ has been in hospital suffering from pneumonia for ten days. Sadly he died this morning, the beautiful sunshine streaming into his room. His health had been deteriorating markedly lately. In the words of his mother, he didn't want himself. We are relieved that he is at peace. He was a good and kind husband, father and grandfather. Someone once commented on how much pleasure he had given to people with his music and flower growing.
