It's a jungle out there...
The days are running into one another but I;m not complaining.
I had a FaceTime get together with pal Jude in Australia. We chatted a few days before my op and she was keen to catch up. Her experience of her own hysterectomy and being an ICU & recovery nurse for 40 years means she is a rich mine of information. She was very happy to see how well I am doing but was keen to stress not to overdo things, and I won't. I know my limits.
I think women are not good at putting themselves first and always worrying about everyone else, working hard to make sure everyone else's needs are met. Well I am using this opportunity to really focus on my recovery and what I want and need going forward. It's an exciting time.
D was still walking Lola when my call with Jude ended so I made lunch for him coming back. Toasted panini with roast beef and French mustard. Nice :-)
I spent the afternoon figuring out what was going wrong with Jen's throw that I am crocheting. I decided just to start again and so far so good. I also took the chance to go over the crochet pieces for Orla's jungle animal bunting. I need to finish stitching markings onto some of the faces, glued the elephant's ears and trunks to the face part, and add the eyes. I couldn't be bothered faffing with fabric glue so completion will have to wait for another day. I also need to crochet some more green leaves but they take no time at all.
Having been given a Christmas voucher last year from Alan's support workers Aliyah & Christine for Ruth Morrison Jewellery, I spent an enjoyable hour perusing her website and made a final decision on the necklace I want.
A lazy evening. Enjoyed watching the final episode of All Aboard! Scotland's Poshest Train. Now bed is calling.
Happy St David's Day :-)
