Sunshine on my Shoulders

Before going back to the nest box, barn owls usually sit and perch and get some rays. It was unfortunate for her that I drove by to disturb her 'moment' though luckily for me at that moment I could stop in the middle of the road and get a shot as she'd only done a short flight.

Up again in the early hours. Dark, cold, -2.5C on the scarp but when the sun came up it warmed you through and who doesn't like a skylark singing?!

My energies this afternoon were sorely taxed as after walking Millie I really did have to tackle Poppy's grooming. After being banned from two grooming salons it hasn't been as easy a ride for me to tackle like I used to but I've had to out of necessity. On the plus side I got off a lot of hair and fur but the down side well where do I start? She was wriggling, circling, moving, squirming, biting when I got near areas she didn't like being touched but had to be. She honesty doesn't look quite the ticket yet and hated every second as so did I! Millie whilst all the commotion was going on was licking her nose trying to tell her it wasn't that bad as she was only groomed this week too!
