Chirk Castle
Slept well in the pent house suite! Cousin Pam’s Birthday today. Breakfast with cards and pressie opening. Lovely things from her friends, Letterbox flowers from her sis and BinL and hand knitted socks and scarf from me.
It’s another beautiful day and Pam drove us to Chirk Castle. So very busy so we didn’t queue for ages to go inside but did wander the fabulous grounds and wondered at the enormous clipped yews (which take the volunteers 6 weeks, or more to fettle them). Onwards to the woods where the last of the Snowdrops were giving a wonderful display.*
Tea and cake in a very nice café and then Pam drove us home via a very beautiful scenic route.
Then I had a very good journey home and have loved the weekend with my Cousin, especially in the sunshine.
*Extra: Snowdrops
Backblip from yesterday: Ukrainian Memorial.
