Looking for Relief

..from all the chaos. 

I was still in recovery from yesterday's Oval Office Fiasco and just couldn't take watching any more replays of that jaw-dropping performance! My blood was still boiling! 

I needed something to lift my spirits and usually something artsy does that; so I went down to our little local art gallery as they had three small exhibitions that I had not yet seen.

My favourite was Connecting the Past with the Present, the one by Yunting Li, who explains her work as  " a visual journey of self discovery stitched by needle and threads". 

My favourite pieces in the exhibit were the ones in her abstract ribbon series. I often do not get all the "meaning" in pieces of art, but I know what I like, and I loved those little works of art. The kaleidoscopes of vibrant colours and all those intricate little ribbon triangles? The detail... the precision? Impressive, and just what I needed...colour!  

A little punch of beauty in a day that really needed a lift!
