It’s gone

I got the bus to town then walked the 2 miles to Marion’s where she gave me a lovely lunch of broccoli, hazelnut pasta and salad. Her partner joined us for a while before he went to practice his music. They are both in bands - he plays lots of instruments and she plays the flute though arthritis in her fingers is causing her problems. We talked about their music, gigs, art, families, travel, learning languages, (she is fluent in French and Russian and is learning German), illnesses, politics, Ukraine, royalty, books. We covered a lot in the 2 hours before she walked me back to town.

On the bus home I was joined by a woman I’d met before at U3A. She talked non-stop so I got off with my ears ringing.

Meanwhile Mr C welcomed the wrecking crew. I mean builders. They got rid of the roof and windows of the conservatory and hopefully will be starting on the next stage tomorrow.

Good news is Ella has got into her local High school which she can walk to, rather than have to get 2 buses to the other one in the lottery. I told Mr C “Ella has got a place at Gosforth”. His reply “who’s lost a case in Gloucester?” Yet he insists he doesn’t need new hearing aids.
